Hey! I’m Scott Belanger.

The best way to make a wedding film is by making people comfortable. When people are comfortable they can let their guard down and experience moments in the present. I believe that creating a comfortable environment will make people feel and look their absolute best. This is my approach to documentary filmmaking.

10 years of capturing weddings and 4 years of film school has taught me to document moments with intention and care. I think less about my equipment and the nuts and bolts of videography and I am able to focus my attention on the environment around me. I am able to get to know my couples and understand what makes their story unique. I can give a hand when needed, and blend into the environment when it’s time to let the moment happen. My goal is to collaborate with other vendors to cultivate a positive and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone, with the client's experience always taking priority. This approach aims to make the wedding day feel less like a checklist of things to do and more of a memorable experience.

My couples appreciate my attention to detail in the way that I am able to capture their wedding days as a collection of small moments rather than a bird’s eye view of the day. Combining documentary coverage and fine-art styles by creating a comfortable atmosphere and recognizing the small but meaningful moments is the basis for how I create films that are beautiful and honest.

I love working with couples who blend the nostalgia of tradition with the joy of making their wedding day a reflection of themselves. Most importantly, I understand that not all weddings appear the same on the outside, but love is love, and I’m excited to share love stories of all kinds.
